The Trips and Food Security: Issues, Challenges and Strategies for Developing Countries

This article focuses on the importance of safeguarding human health and the environment, while enabling people to enjoy the benefits that flow from advances in biotechnology. Through a detailed discussion of the implications of TRIPS on the right to food in developing countries, the article demonstrates that with a strengthened IPR regime under TRIPS, the individual right to food (and food security) is threatened with
violation.
